  1. A Mallapuram native, Noushad, shaved off the center of his head in order to smuggle 1 kg of gold.
  2. He landed on Friday, 11th October 2019, at the Cochin International Airport, from UAE.
  3. He had concealed the gold in a compound form, making it look like a paste, thus hiding it from sight under the wig.
  4. A probe has been started as Noushad was just a carrier, and some more such smugglers are expected to be caught.

In an odd incident, Noushad, a Mallapuram native which is in Kerala, shaved off the center of his head in order to smuggle 1.13 kg of gold under the wig. He hoped to get it past officials at the Cochin International Airport and smuggle it into the state.

Noushad landed at the Cochin International Airport on Friday, 11th October 2019, from Sharhjah in UAE. He had concealed the gold in the compound form under the toupee. In compound form, the gold looks like a paste and cannot be found by metal detectors. However, he was caught by the airport security and arrested for the same.

A similar incident has occurred in the past when a person from Spain the same thing as Noushad and tried to smuggle the gold under his wig. However, it was very obvious, and the man was caught immediately. Many others have tried to conceal and smuggle gold into the country, by hiding it in different parts of their body- even their private parts.

After this incident, and an increasing incidence of similar ones, a probe has been started to avoid it. It has been reported that Noushad was just a carrier, and there may be some more to follow his lead.

Another incident in Kerala, another man was successful in smuggling gold, only to be caught when he came to file a complaint against the gang members who tried to kidnap him and steal the gold.
