Turkey has captured the sister of head honcho of Islamic State Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi on Monday in the northern province of Syria. Alongwith her, her husband and daughter-in-law have also been detained.

Rasmiya Awad was captured in raid near Azaz, the Turkish officer declared, she was also accompanied by her five children.

“We hope to gather a trove of intelligence from Baghdadi’s sister on the working of ISIS”, said the Turkish official.

Baghdadi had killed himself last month in raid by special forces of United States of America in northwestern province of Syria. ISIS, in audio statement had confirmed the death of their leader and also had vowed to avenge the death of their leader against USA.

Baghdadi had risen from state of being unknown to lead ultra-hardline group and had declared himself the ‘messiah’ or ‘caliph’ of all Muslims, holding sway over larger parts of Iraq and Syria till 2017, as after that the control was wrested by coalition of Iraqi, Syrian Kurds and American forces.

The ISIS, said a successor to Baghdadi will be Abu Ibrahim al-Hashemi-al-Quarishi. The officials are trying to fetch details of the upcoming leader of the terrorist organization.

Leaders across the world have welcomed the death of the Baghdadi, but security experts have warned that the group which carried out atrocities against religious minorities and are horrifying Muslims, still impose a security threat to Syria and other countries.
