A group of Hindutva Organizations warned of launching a campaign against Shiv Sena and BJP if any of the two parties decide to form alliance with NCP or Congress to form government in Maharashtra.
Samasta Hindu Aghadi President Milind Ekbote said the BJP and Shiv Sena which have together won 161 out of 288 seats in Maharashtra should form the government in the state. He further stated that the ongoing fight between the former allies comes out as an insult to people’s mandate.
He said Hindutva outfits were coming together as a”united front” to oppose Sena and BJP’s attempts to tie up with ideologically polarizing parties.
“We have been working for the alliance for decades. We were expecting that some of our demands would be fulfilled since BJP and Shiv Sena come to power… We are also concerned about the farmers.
“But these two parties are fighting against each other. It is an insult to people’s mandate. Therefore, we are appealing to both of them a government in Maharashtra as soon as possible,” he said.
“If anyone of the parties- BJP and Shiv Sena form a new alliance with Congress and NCP, then we will stage protests in the state. We also campaign against them. We will also campaign against these saffron parties,” Ekbote said.
Apart from Samsta Hindu Aghadi, six other organizations include Hindu Mahasabha, Hindu Janjagruti Samiti, Rashtriya Warkari Parishad and Hindu Rashtra Sena, have extended support towards forming this front.
Right-wing leader Sambhaji Bhide is also learnt to have given support to it, they said.
