P Shankar wanted to do something to express his love and respect towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi, so he decided to build a temple.
The temple is located in Tamil Nadu’s Trichy District. The tiled temple in Erakundi village has attracted a lot of people living in nearby areas.
“It all started before the general elections. As I wanted Modiji to become the Prime Minister for a second consecutive year, I was adamant to construct a temple on my land,” said Shankar who is the president of farmers’ association of his village.
“After he announced PMKSN(Pradhan Mantri Kissan Samman Nidhi) for the assistance of farmers, I was very happy. I had chosen a piece of land to build a temple for him and had been toying the idea since 2014,” he says proudly.
He cited the implementation of NEET for admissions to medical and dental colleges across the country as another reason behind him constructing the temple.
“After NEET, a candidate who has the capability of getting admissions will only get it, as it has terminated the procedure of getting illegally into the colleges.”
When asked about the idol he says it is made up of cement and stone. The temple also has the idols of Jayalalitha and MG Ramachandran, the leaders of AIADMK.
