Prior to Thackeray’s swearing-in ceremony, Ajit Pawar who had lent support to BJP for a short span of time attended the meeting of NCP MLAs in Mumbai. NCP chief Jayant Patil and senior party leaders were also present at YB Chavan Center.
Senior leaders of Congress including Ahmed Patel and KC Venugopal will be meeting Sharad Pawar at his residence. Besides this, Uddhav Thackeray and his wife Rashmi Thackeray met Governor BS koshiyari at Raj Bhavan.
The Shiva Sena Chief will be the first Thackeray to sworn as the Chief Minister. The Bombay High Court have raised security concern over the swearing-in ceremony of Uddhav Thackeray at Shivaji Park, and stated that holding political functions in open ground should not become regular feature.

Besides, being the only Chief Minister in Maharashtra to be sworn in twice, Fadnavis becomes the shortest-serving CM of Maharashtra as he had to resign within 80 hours of his swearing-in ceremony. After the withdrawal of support from Ajit Pawar, he had to resign from the post of Chief Minister due to the lack of seats to prove the majority in Parliament.
