Aaditya Thackeray, the grandson of Shiv Sena founder, Bal Thackerey is going to stand for the elections and is going to be the first Thackerey member to do so. He is contesting for the Worli constituency seat. In his nomination, he states that he has no criminal case going on against him and his assets amount to a total of Rs 16.05 crores. Of these, the gross value of the assets is Rs 11.38 crores and immovable property amounts to a total of Rs 4.67 crores according to the current market status.
He also stated that he has a total of Rs 5.79 crores in his bank account and has no impending loans. The 29-year-old filed his nomination of the 3rd of October 2019 at the Worli Assembly Constituency at Mumbai, Maharashtra. His mother, Rashmi Thackerey and father, Udhab Thackerey also accompanied him. A crowd had gathered as Aditya Thackerey was on his way to the office of the Returning Officer, as a show of support.
Aaditya Thackeray has stated his elation with the support and how excited he feels about the election. Besides the usual Shiv Sena flags, support was shown by the allies as well who stuck up the flags of BJP and Republican Party of India during the march to the office.
Multiple hoarding has been put up across Worli Featuring the politician’s face in various languages. He has also set up the “Jan Ashirwad Yatra” to thank his voters for all the support he received. The General Assembly elections are set to be held on the 23rd October 2019 in Maharashtra.
