Hyderabad: Just like in Delhi, now commuters of Hyderabad would be able to reach the airport in just 20 minutes. As a part of a significant infrastructure push, Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao will spread the foundation stone for the Metro Rail’s Airport Express Corridor. According to online reports, a 31-km high-speed linkage that is going to connect the Mindspace junction and the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Shamshabad will begin on December 9. According to the reports it came to know that once the plan began, it will deliver a faster experience due to which trains would cover the distance in just 20 minutes. It will be mostly elevated. However, it will run above the road but will have a 2.5 km underground section. The urban development minister and municipal administration K.T. Rama Rao took his Twitter account where he announced the news and wrote a brief note telling him, Hyderabad is Developing Ahead. I am very delighted to announce that Hon’ble CM KCR Garu will be laying the foundation for Airport Express Metro on this upcoming 9th December. This project will begin at Mindspace junction to Shamshabad Airport and it would be 31 KM long & costing approximately ₹6,250 Cr.

As per the sources, the airport line will be a part of the offered 58-km Hyderabad Metro Phase-II scheme, which is currently at the initial stage. The spokesperson for Govt has stated that back in Feb 2020, Telangana has a govt approved detailed project for Phase II, which includes 3 new metro lines and extensions for existing lines. Now, as per the new project, the Phase-II project will have 3 elevated extensions of already running lines in the 67-km phase 1.

Now, when it comes to talking about the lines so we would like to let you know that so far only 2 lines have been revealed where one is Red Line and another is Blue Line. The Red Line corridor will be built to connect Miyapur to Lakdikapul at a built cost of Rs 8,453 Crore. The red line will pass through different areas such as BHEL, Kondapur, Gachibowli, Raidurg, Mehdipatnam, and Masab Tank. Talking about the blue line so it will help to commute from Biodiversity Junction, Nanakramguda, Narsingi, TS Police Academy, Rajendranagar, Shamshabad, RGIA cargo unit, and the RGIA passenger terminal.
