The actions taken by the UP government has flabbergasted every rioter into silence. The Chief minister’s office has said in a series of tweets, amidst wrath against crackdown during anti-Citizenship protests.

“Every crazy person is thinking that he has committed a big mistake by challenging Yogi’s power after looking at the fierce actions taken by the CM. Shri Yogi Aditynath’s government against rioters stated a tweet made by his spokesperson.

Details

The Uttar Pradesh government has issued a circular notifying 498 people for damaging the public property. It was during the protests and said that they will soon seize the property.

Yogiji told the officials to identify the people who were protesting to recover the losses. After that, commenced the action. However, the process of evaluating losses will go on till December 30.

The initiation of proceedings to recover the loss, who allegedly destroyed public property amidst the protests against citizenship act. It claimed 18 lives on 20th December are based on the judgement passed in 2010 in Allahabad High Court.

Court judgement

The High Court’s judgement laid down guidelines for the government. So, to recover lost during riots if the rioters turn violent. Also, the cause of any sort of damage to public property.

In its hearing led by Justice Sudhir Agarwal outlined the stringent measures. After noting that, had failed to implement the provisions of the Prevention of Damage to Public Property. Which was implemented in 1984- a penal provision to penalize the people who damage the public property.

The judge observed that the law remained on paper with the state registering only 585 cases. It is under it between 1984 and 2009.

Bottom Line

Till now, More than 320 cases had registered. And 1113 people have put under bars and 558 taken in preventive custody, said director general of Uttar Pradesh.

The police working under BJP-led government facing critics from the opposition of using brutal forces against those protesting against the law.
