A Constable at a police station in Ghaziabad started firing bullets into the air when a Dhaba owner told him that food was over for the night. The incident occurred near the Harson police lines on Friday 20th September 2019. He was on duty at the time in the CGO complex and was a frequent customer at the eating out.
Sandeep Baliyan, residing in Muzaffarnagar, arrived at the Dhaba at around 10 pm in the midst of night duty and asked for food to be served. When the owner told him that food was over that day, he insisted on being served a meal. On further insistence, the constable lost his cool and took his gun out and fired two shots into the air.
To support the statement, investigating officers found two empty cartridges on the ground, at the alleged scene of the crime. Both the bullets missed the owner but hit an electrical panel nearby. Following the scene, the constable rushed out and is on the run since.
An FIR was filed against the constable and a team is on the lookout for him. He has been charged with attempt to murder and suspended by the Senior Superintendant for his behaviour.
