- Almost 100 organizations have joined hands to protest against CAA, NCR and NPR.
- These organizations will be protesting under one banner-We the people of India.
- The groups will be conducting nationwide protests on birth and death anniversary of renowned people.
Nearly 100 organizations from across the Indian subcontinent have decided to fight against the CAA(Citizenship Amendment Act), NPR(National Population Register) and NRC(National Register of Citizens) under the banner of We the People of India.
“We are appealing to all the people protesting against the CAA, NPR, NCR to join hands. Yogendra Yadav said, this is the first phrase of the constitution and nothing can be bigger than that”. He is the founder of Swaraj Abhiyan Party.
In fact, the groups will be conducting nationwide protests and demonstrations in January. After that, these protests will be conducted on significant days that mark the birth or death anniversary of renowned people. So, the protests will be commencing from 3rd January, birth anniversary of Savitribai Phule.
The groups will also be protesting on 8th January along with the farmers’ association and have also announced Bharat Bandh. However, the next series of protests will be from 12th January. 12th January is celebrated as National Youth Day and also marks the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda.
“On January 17, Rohit Vemula was murdered by his administrators, will be marked as social justice day. So, on Makar Sakranti we will gather people from all cultures together. On Republic Day and Martyrs’ Day, we will form a human chain across the country.
Famous activist Harsh Mander said that the implementation of NRC was not communal and everyone had to be part of the process. Due to NPR, NRC becomes even more dangerous as the party gets to select the “Doubtful” citizens among people of India.
The ultimatum of BJP is to throw our Muslim brothers and sisters out of this country. Your life is at standstill and all you have do is to look out for the documents,” he said.
