Italy’s Coronavirus Mistakes: A message for rest. What it is? Read here!

The country’s efforts show that contamination needs to be controlled. Measures need to be taken and strictly enforced. As Italy’s coronavirus infections reached more than 400 cases and death went to double digits, the leader of the Democratic Party, posted a picture of himself clinking glasses. He urged people “not to change our habits.”

Italy’s Coronavirus Mistakes: A message for rest

This was on Feb 27. 10 days later, the toll hit 5883 infections and 233 dead. Nicola Zingaretti posted that he also had the Coronavirus.

As of now, Italy has more than 53,000 recorded infections. Almost 4800 are dead and the rate keeps on growing. Italy has also surpassed China on the death toll count.

Italy has become the center of a shifting pandemic.

The government had to send an army to lockdown Lombardy. Lombardy is the center of the outbreak in the northern region. It is where bodies have piled up in churches. The authorities tightened the nationwide lockdown on Friday. It closed parks and banned outdoor activities including walking or jogging far from home.

Italy has closed its factories and not essential production. It is an enormous economic sacrifice intended to contain the virus and protect lives.

If Italy’s experience shows anything, it is that measures to isolate affected areas and limit the movement of the broader population need to be taken. It is to put in place with absolute clarity, then strictly enforced.

Despite now having some of the toughest measures in the world, Italian authorities fumbled many of those steps early in the contagion. It mattered the most as they sought to preserve basic civil liberties as well as the economy.

People from Italy, from officials to bloggers are requesting people to do what they didn’t. Stay at home and avoid mass gatherings. Also, follow the health guidelines and advisories issued. Do not hide when you show symptoms.
