National Security Advisor Ajit Doval was on a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia during which we briefed Saudi Prince Mohammad bin Salman of the situation in Jammu and Kashmir after the abrogation of article 370. The Saudi side conveyed the message that it was aware of the situation in Kashmir, the impact that New-Delhi had after scrapping the article and the rising tension between the neighboring countries.
NSA arrived in Saudi on Tuesday. Mr. Salman and Mr. Doval also had a discussion on bilateral and regional issues including missile and drone attacks in Saudi oil facilities last month, and ways to escalate anti-terror co-operation.
Saudi Arabia is a major contributor to enhancing India’s energy security, as 17% of crude oil and 32% of LPG requirements of the nation are fulfilled by them.
Inspite of the biggest drone attack on its facilities that vanished half of its daily oil production, the gulf country assures India that it was committed to meet the nation’s energy security needs. Saudi Arabia’s Minister of State of foreign affairs and UAE foreign minister visited Islamabad in the midst of escalating tension in Jammu and Kashmir.
India has commenced a diplomatic outreach to notify also the countries of its decisions on Jammu and Kashmir. Saudi Arabia, an ally of Pakistan is supporting India in its campaign to get rid of terrorism and pledge to effectively deal with challenges that come in their way.
