As the number of COVID19 cases rises in India, certain temples have put up restrictions for devotees.
Sri Ranganathaswamy Temple in Srirangam has set up thermal scanners. Moreover, the Siddhivinayak Temple in Mumbai has been closed under further notice.
The first case of COVID19 in the state of West Bengal has been admitted to the Beleghata ID Hospital. Whereas, the third death related to coronavirus has been reported on Wednesday after a patient died in Maharashtra.
As of 5:15 PM on Tuesday, the total number of COVID19 cases tested positive in India is 137. This includes 24 foreign nationals.
Many states have been encouraging social distinction and isolation, many Hindu temples across the country have shut down or taken precautionary measures.
The government has banned passengers from Afghanistan, Philippines and Malaysia with immediate effect.
