1993 Mumbai Blast conspirator Munaf Halari has arrested.: 1993 Mumbai blast is a heartbreaking incident, Munaf Halari, a key accused in the 1993 Mumbai blasts were arrested. He is a close associate of the key conspirator Tiger Memom and was arrested from the airport in Mumbai by the Gujarat Anti-Terror Squad (ATS) on a drug seizure case.
Munaf was caught in the Mumbai airport on Sunday night while he was on his way to Dubai. In fact, he was travelling with a Pakistani passport. And was wanted in a narcotics case where he is believed to have smuggled heroin through the Gujarat coast. Also, the other five Pakistanis were arrested on 2nd January.

About 1993 Mumbai Blast conspirator Munaf Halari

According to the Mumbai Police, Halari had played a key role in the planning and execution of the 1993 Mumbai Blasts. A Red Corner Notice was issued against him on the request of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). Halari had sourced three brand new scooters that he later loaded with explosives and were used to set off explosions throughout Mumbai.
A series of explosions took place on 12th March 1993 in which 257 people died and 713 were injured. According to police records, Halari fled to Bareilly and then Bangkok after the blasts.

Investigators also told reporters that Halari had entered India twice on a Pakistani passport after 1993. He had come to India last in the year 2014 from Atari Border and had visited Mumbai. The Gujarat ATS has seized the Pakistani passport, which was renewed twice by Pakistani authorities. Halari will now face trial in India for smuggling charges along with his role in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case.
