P se Pyaar F se Faraar Story:

P se Pyaar F se Faraar is a Hindi language movie, focusing on the problem of Honor killings in Indian society. It focuses on the love story of two youngsters, who first fell into a romantic relationship at a street vendor. Jhanvi is a rebellious girl, whose father is highly against the notion of inter-caste marriages, and believes such relationships to be a shame upon their family. Sonu is a Dalit and not on the same level of social standing as his partner, Jhanvi. The couple, who are not even of marriageable age, run away to escape the wrath of their family.

On learning this, Jhanvi’s father is enraged and sends out people to chase after them, and in the name of honour, have them killed. He sets his attack dogs on Sonu’s mother. Omveer, her father’s younger brother, is, however, more understanding and liberal, and doesn’t support his brother in his views. He tracks them down, in order to save them from Omveer’s wrath, who is in Delhi with Sonu’s relative Rajesh.

The movie seems to proceed to highlight the hardships that the couple faced in order to get away from being killed.

P se Pyaar F se Faraar Review:

P se Pyaar F se Faraar is an honest attempt at tackling one of the major issues being faced in our country. Honour killing is not only an inhumane practice but also stops our country from reaching great heights, hindering development is a not so well explored manner. While the movie was a very great attempt, it doesn’t become a very good movie. What seems to be appealing to a viewer in the storyline, is highly lacking in the way it was dealt with.

The story has been well thought of, and while it isn’t the first movie of it’s kind, it is certainly an eye-opening one. The deeper plot hpwever, has several holes in it. The casting is a little mismatched. While characters played by people like Shergill and Bhavesh Kumar are spot on, the characters played by the couple, lack emotion. Focusing on the love story and all was great, but was a moot decision since there was absolutely no chemistry between the two. The storyline though great, fails to explore the emotional aspects of the social evil. It has simply become a movie trying to talk about honor killing, in the most stone cold way as possible.

All in all, it was a great attempt, but I do not recommend spending 2 hours watching it, since there are better movies to educate ourselves with.
