Koena Mitra, a contestant on the 13th season of the show Big Boss, was convicted and removed on Sunday 13th October 2019 by the host, Salman Khan. She recently gave an interview where she called her co-contestants- Shehnaaz Gill, Arti Singh and Sidharth Dey- Fake and annoying. She also went on to criticize Salaman Khan, and states that he would always side with the wrong people.
Koena has had altercations with Sidharth and Arti, but Shehnaaz was guilty of mocking her. She accused Shenaaz of mocking her acting skills, appearance and her work, and also states that she mocked her behind her back. When she confronted Shehnaaz, she would avoid the conversations. Koena then claims to have approached Salman about the conflicts occurring, and Salman told her that since people were loving it, they would continue with the drama. He also, supposedly told her that the Bigg Boss house wasn’t a place for dignity. She elaborates on her conversation with the host, saying,
“a lot of people can’t handle strong, fearless, opinionated, INDEPENDENT women, well i said that in front of host Salman khan also that aapko lagta hain ki hindustan mein graceful, strong, valuable foundation walon ke liye fan following nahi hain? kyunki andar bhi log yahi halla machate hain. to which he replied, ‘for dignity there is another platform koena.’ so this means that salman khan gives an official statement that the show’s platform doesn’t demand dignity. so, i think now the nation has to decide what they actually want to see.”
The Bollywood actress states that she wasn’t very surprised that she was removed as a contestant, and in fact already had an inkling about what was going to happen. She states that she had 24 hours to prove that she was a role model for the youth. She states that she is proud that she didn’t change her personality or behaviour to suit the whims and fancies of the show.
The actress went on the say that despite the happenings, she has received a lot of love since she got evicted, from all around. She also mentioned Dalljiet Kaur and says that she agreed with her co-contestants opinion that she was the best choice for evictions, quoting,
“she is absolutely right. i failed to make connections inside the house because i wasn’t there to nurture their conflicts or reputation. my priority was my reality. my job wasn’t about promoting a concept because then i would have to be fake. dalljiet is absolutely right as i was the only one in the house who didn’t try to nurture a conflict. i was the only person who didn’t have any gangs or groups. i was the only person in the house who was called the house boss. so in that case, i can only thank her for speaking the truth.”
