The film is based on a newspaper article in which the British Court had allowed a matter involving spirits to be tried. The story revolves around Indian politician who is accused of killing his wife Barkha. The role of Barkha has been potrayed by Gayatri Iyer.
Defence lawyer Simran Singh whose role is essayed by Sanaya Irani. She is the film, has been fighting her inner demons. Whilst the proceedings of the case, both Karan and Simran get entangled in the web of haunting spirits. Apart from being trapped in the web of spirits both of them fall for each other. The love story between them becomes the crux of the supernatural saga.
Vikram Bhatt makes an ideal supernatural saga. A couple of scenes where the protagonist follows the ‘satan’ but finds the spirit getting passed to every passerby is built with mounting dread laced with dark humour and suspense.
Vikram Bhatt proves his prowess in making horror films as the mere presence of the hand also manages to scare the shit out of the people. Sanaya Irani portrays his role with utmost sincerity and conviction. Shivam Bhargava who essays the role of Karan is a delight to watch. Gayatri Iyer, inspite of having less screen time manages to impress the audience. Ananya Sengupta is a surprise.
Cinematography is picturesque and the background music is amazing. The music of the film is not that good.
The film’s effective and intense and has frightening twists during the final reels which make the film worth watching.
