Superstar Deepika Padukone visited Jawaharlal Nehru University express solidarity to the students who got injured in the mass hysteria. The opinions of celebrities on her visit to JNU has left Twitter divided.

Her visit came at a time when all the celebrities chose not to give their opinions on CAA and NRC and ongoing protests due to the implementation of the acts.

The Padmavat actor who was in Delhi NRC for promoting her latest release -‘Chapaak’- that tells the story of an acid attack survivor. She attended the meeting and stood as former JNUSU president Kanhaiya Kumar gave a speech.

The actress’ presence on the university campus not only received flak but also received praise on Twitter. Some people have massively trolled her by calling her presence at the protests as a PR stunt for her film. However, another section of the people has shown support for her.

Bollywood celebrities like Sonakshi Sinha, Bhumi Pednekar, Shabana Azmi, Anurag Kashyap, her fellow actor in Chapaak- Vikrant Massey to name a few.

Other people like Vivek Agnihotri, Tajinder Pal Singh Bagga, Nupur Sharma have staunchly opposed her visit to JNU.
