Music maestro AR Rahman has his hands full with projects. The internationally acclaimed singer has been composing music for couple of Hindi and Tamil films, and on top of that, focusing on his upcoming film 99 songs.

99 songs is his debut film as a producer and writer. He is the sole producer of the film.It has been co-written by Vishwesh Krishnamoothy. The film is set to premiere at the Busan International film festival. Before the premiere commences, Rahman will present piano recital in front of the audience.

He in his recent interviews said,”Every person’s journey is different. We go through ups and downs and come across certain things that people don’t. I have experienced so much in life through my journey, it’s interesting to put it in a movie and put it to people. Over the years, I have witnessed beauty, struggle, redemption, love and whatnot. There are a plethora of songs to be released, I want to unveil them in front of the audience, before the film hits the screens.

The film will be premiered at Busan International Film Festival on October 9. The film stars Ehan Bhat, Edilsy Varghese and Tanzin Dalha in the lead. Lisa Ray, Manisha Koirala, Ranjit Barot and Rahul Ram will be seen in supporting roles.

Other Indian films to be screened at the film festival are Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Farhan Akhtar- starrer The Sky is Pink, Vineet Kumar’s Aadhar, Alankrita Shrivastava’s Dolly kitty aur Chamakte Sitare, Tannishta Chatterrjee’s Roam Rome mein and Gitanjali Rao’s animated film Bombay rose.

Coming back to the film, it is a sensual story about art and self-discovery of a struggling singer who aspires to become a successful music composer. The film had been released in June, but will be showcased in the film festival in October. Have a look at teaser of the film.
