Legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan completes a 5 decade-long journey in the Hindi film industry today. His marked his debut with Saat Hindustani in 1969. After his debut film, he went to deliver blockbuster films like Sholay, Zanjeer, Deewar, Coolie, Sarkar, Anand to name a few.  The man who had no filmy connections, went on to become superstar.

His iconic dialogues have been etched in people’s minds whether it is ‘Rishtey mai to hum tumhare baap lagte hai naam hai Shahenshah from the film Shahenshan,  the dialogue from Agneepath or the ones from Sholay.  The megastar has also acted in Bengali, Kannada, Marathi, Telugu and English films.

To celebrate the completion of 50 years of the megastar, his son, Abhishek Bachchan shares a black and white photo on social media with a note.

He writes that he was in awe of the actor, not just as a son but as an actor and an ardent fan.

Besides this Karan Johar, Shweta Bachchan, Farhan Akhtar were amongst the celebrities to congratulate megastar oh his completion of 50 years in Indian cinema.

Recently, the megastar was seen in the fim ‘Sye Raa Narsimha Reddy alongside Chiranjeevi. He portrayed the role of Guru Gosayi Vankanna, the mentor of Narsimha Reddy. The film also had Nayanthara, Jagapathi Babu, Vijay Setupathi and Tamannah in the leads.   

The megastar is currently busy shooting for Kaun Banega Crorepati. He had been hospitalized a couple of days back for an unkonown medical condition.

In his blog, he addressed the speculation by stating that every individual had the right to keep their medical details confidential. 

His upcoming ventures are Shoojit Sircar’s ‘Gulaabo Sitaabo’ alongside Ayushmann Khurana. It will be his third film with the ace filmmaker as he has already starred in his previous films ‘Pink’ and ‘Piku’. In this film he will be donning heavy prosthetics. His another upcoming venture is the one of the most awaited films of the year- Ayan Mukerji’s Bhramastra starring Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Nagarjuna, Mouni Roy in leads.

Besides these, he will be featuring in Nagraj Manjule’s Hindi directorial debut ‘Jhund’ with Rinku Rajguru and Akash Thosar, and Rumi Jaffery’s mystery thriller ‘Chehre’ alongside Emraan Hashmi and Kriti Kharbhanda. Talking about his son, he also an actor- Abhishek Bachchan, who was last seen in the critically acclaimed film-‘Manmarziyaan’ portraying the role of Robbie Bhatia.He will now be seen in a webseries ‘Breathe’. His other projects have still not been announced.
